Fancy spending your Saturday morning running 22 km through icy pools of muddy water, obstacles of sliding mud towers and rope barriers, running through electric shock cables, swinging under hundreds of monkey bars and tip-toeing your way over fields of fire? No… Thought not.
Our team of strapping lads here at Knowledge to Action are doing exactly that this October at Sydney’s Tough Mudder!
Tough Mudder is a 22km obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. Only 78% of entrants successfully complete each challenge.
Designed to test your strength and endurance to the limit, participants will battle through extreme obstacles of mud, fire, ice and ropes in a gruelling fitness challenge. Certainly not designed for the weak!
Our team, ‘The Bear Bulls’, have launched into their training for Tough Mudder with our own ex-military trainer, ‘Sarge’.
Our blood, sweat and tears is all in aid of two incredible causes; The knowledge to Action Foundation and Good Return.
The Knowledge to Action Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation committed to positively improving the quality of life of children around the world. Focusing on education, life skills and youth leadership initiatives, the foundation strives to equip young people with the essential building blocks of life. The Foundation’s mission is to provide children regardless of background, with the tools, strategies and emotional confidence so that they can reach their full potential and realise their ultimate destiny.
Established in 2009, by World Education Australia, Good Return connects Australians to the working poor in the Asia Pacific who need a small loan to start or expand a small business, grow their income, and lift themselves out of poverty. Combining microfinance with education and skills building, good return aims to create an environment where the resources and opportunities for long term benefits are available.
As a team, we are aiming to raise $20,000 to enable a generous donation that will really make a difference to both of our chosen charities.
Please help us to achieve this target and donate at: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/the-bear-bulls
Stay tuned and follow our journey throughout our training process as we will be posting video updates, showcasing our hardest challenges along the journey, and reporting on team moral and feedback.
Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy whilst we do the hard work:
