September 2013 was a landmark month for the Knowledge to Action Foundation, marking the opening of a new crèche near to Johannesburg in collaboration with Virgin Unite.
Through the fantastic results from our fundraising Tradeathon’s in both the UK and here in Australia, we managed to raise £10,000. This combined with a donation of £50,000 from our umbrella company Global Success Summits to Virgin Unite from other projects, formed the funds to create a fantastic crèche to enhance the lives and development of young children.
Knowledge to Action have been involved with Virgin Unite since 2010 when it was recognized as the 49th fastest growing company in the UK, at the same time as expanding into Australia. Since then, Greg has been on various connection trips with Richard Branson, and was challenged to raise money through our tradeathon’s to open the Kasani Crèche on their next scheduled trip.
The Kasani Creche is located in the Dumphries Village, which is a disadvantaged community near the Sabi Sand Reserve.
To mark this memorable day, Greg Secker, Richard Branson, James Matthews our Managing Director, and Jeanie Bird the Knowledge to Action Foundation’s CEO traveled to Johannesburg and met with the ‘Starkey Hearing Foundation’s’ Founder Bill Austin, and Executive Director Brady Forseth, to fit hearing aids to the local community members where necessary. A wonderful occasion on all parts. To view all images from the trip, click here.
Next Year’s Global Success Summit is soon to be announced. Watch this space.
